This video demonstrates setting up specific roles and policies in Deskalerts. The Organizational Unit tree (OU tree) can be used in order to grant specific publisher/editor permissions to send/create or modify desktop alert content for specific users, groups or organization units.
Desktop alerts can only be addressed to users selected from active directory tree alert server. Make sure that you configure appropriate policies for desktop alert editors and desktop alert publishers in your organization. Enforce strict control over who can communicate with which parts of your organization based on Active Directory.
Click on “Polices” menu and then “Add”. You will see the “Add/Change policy” page. On this page you can setup employee communication roles to grant permissions for those who can send, modify and review only. Roles can be System Administrator or Editor/Publisher.
Enter Policy name, select Role and click on Save. After setting up permissions for the Policy from the Access Control List go to the List of Recipients.
Select and add users, OUs, groups and computers to the list and save.
Create new Editor/Publisher to assign him created permissions. Enter name, password and select required permission from the list. Click Save. Now desktop alerts can only be addressed to users selected from active directory tree alert server.
